Laura and Eric are a wonderful couple that I had the pleasure to photograph on a super sunny day in early October, 2011. I love the quality of light during the fall, and like to use it to add little drama in some of the outdoor pictures.
The bride and groom had decided not to see each other prior to the ceremony, so this is Eric seeing Laura for the first time as she walks down the aisle with her father.
Interesting behind the scenes story of this couple’s day…the bracelet you see the bride wearing in the photograph above was her “borrowed” for her day; an emerald and diamond channel-set stunner (which also matched her shoes!) Halfway through dinner, the groom quietly approached me to let me know the bride realized she had lost the bracelet, but didn’t know where. Thinking quickly on my feet, I looked through all the pictures I had taken so far on the back of my camera. I pinpointed the time and location that I believed it went missing (since it was no longer on her wrist in the pictures.) Thanks to my CSI skills, someone went back out to the park and found it in the dark. It had fallen off during family pictures which I had taken after the ceremony in the “altar” area. Not only was I able to preserve their special memories for years to come, I was also able to be a little bit of a hero for the day as well!
Laura and Eric had their outdoor ceremony at the Jewel Tea Pavilion at Citizens Park in Barrington, Illinois. Not a cloud in the sky!
The bride also happened to be the banquet coordinator at the Stonegate Banquets in Hoffman Estates, where the reception was held. Having much experience with weddings, Laura knew exactly what she wanted for her fall wedding…
The couple enjoying a quiet moment together on the dance floor…so much love!
